Sunrooms, two-story great rooms, arched windows, and skylights are where off-the-shelf treatments fail. Central Ohio summers turn a glass room into an oven, winters make it cold, and high windows are impossible to reach. Here's how to handle each one.

Sunrooms

Solar shades are the go-to. Their screen fabric cuts glare, heat, and UV fading while keeping your view of the yard. Choose a lower openness for more heat control or a higher openness for more view. Cellular shades add insulation if the room is used in winter.
